Holland America Line has cancelled the Veendam’s Oct. 11 Canada/New England cruise so the ship can enter a dry dock in Philadelphia to fully fix a propeller. The Sept. 27 and Oct. 4 cruises were already cancelled so repairs could be made. As work has progressed alongside in Quebec, it has been determined that a complete repair can only be made in a dry dock,” the company said. “We are profoundly sorry for the disappointment of our guests who have been impacted by these required repairs.” The ship will sail under its own power without guests to a dry dock facility in Philadelphia. All services and safety systems on the ship are fully operational.
Guests booked on the seven-day cruise from Quebec to Boston will receive a full refund of their cruise fare plus a future cruise credit of 100 percent of their cruise fare paid. The company also will reimburse non-refundable expenses such as missed tours and excursions that were purchased through Holland America Line.
