Cruise lines aid in Irma relief effort

Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line have dedicated ships to deliver supplies to hurricane-ravaged destinations and evacuate stranded visitors.  Royal Caribbean's Adventure of the Seas arrived in St. Maarten on Sunday with provisions. Then the ship departed for Puerto Rico with tourists who were stuck on the island. The Majesty of the Seas will bring supplies, including food and water, to St. Thomas and St. Maarten, and assist in transporting tourists in St. Maarten to safety.
Additionally, Royal Caribbean said it would deploy the Empress of the Seas and the Enchantment of the Seas to assist Key West and Tampa once the impact of the storm is known.
Norwegian Cruise Line has deployed the Norwegian Sky to St. Thomas to deliver supplies.
Carnival said it has "activated a plan to begin delivery of supplies on both an immediate and sustained, longer-term basis. These deliveries will be worked into ships cruise itineraries as part of our ongoing operations
